Manor, Texas serves students across 15 campuses. At the start of the 2025-2026 school year, Manor ISD deployed Xtract One Gateway across its high school campuses, making it one of the first districts in Texas to implement AI-powered weapons detection at scale.
The decision followed a significant safety incident, a 43-recommendation security audit, and a clear-eyed assessment of what the district's device-rich campuses actually needed from a detection system. Students carry school-issued laptops and personal electronics every day. A system that could not tell the difference between a Chromebook and a threat was not going to work.
The case study covers what the deployment looked like, how the system performed in daily operation, and what district leadership, campus principals, and the broader community observed in the months that followed.
